“The Fjone ferry” – Norway's smallest cable ferry
The Fjone ferry “M/F Nissen” was established in 1947 and runs between Fjone and Sundsodden in Nissedal. For many years this cable ferry was the only connection between the east and west banks of Nisser, until the road to Treungen was build in 1967.
Today the ferry is most used by tourists but also of great benefit to business to and from neighbouring areas. Every year the ferry takes between 5-6000 cars, bicycles, bikes and busses across the 500m stretch of water separating the east and the west Nisser.
Amid the beautiful scenery of Nissedal, the ferry is a delightful experience not to be missed.
Welcome onboard!
